The Neyland Good Neighbours Scheme members met recently and are planning to hold an information day at the Hazelbeach Community Mission Hall during the autumn. The GNS is one of thirteen in Pembrokeshire and represents low-level, non-emergency chores and assistance from members of the public to older, more vulnerable residents. Please contact Ms Rachel Gibby of PCC on 01437 764551 for further information.
The Pembrokeshire County Council changing village is being constructed by WJG Evans and should be finished in August. It is one of the best improvements over the past few years and represents a £500,000 investment. The new building will house four changing rooms and a gym and replaced the dilapidated old pool and stand.
The Pembrokeshire Housing Association scheme in St Clement’s Road is progressing well. There will be four one-bed flats and one two-bed unit. The investment is around £400,000 and local housing applicants will be given preference. When it is remembered how this was an overgrown mess, a dumping ground, this scheme is an excellent regeneration project tidying up the area which will provide housing for local people.
